On Tuesday, May 12, 2015, the new Rutgers Center for Corporate Law and Governance held a special program and reception to mark the launch of the Center. Over 100 guests attended, including business and nonprofit leaders, and Rutgers Law alumni, faculty, students, administration, and staff. Michael H. Ullmann, Vice President and General Counsel of Johnson & Johnson, was the key note speaker. Linda A. Willett, Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, and Chair of the Center¹s Advisory Board, delivered remarks and introduced Mr. Ullmann. A cocktail reception followed the program.
The Rutgers University-Newark and Rutgers University-Camden communities together developed this initiative. The Center will engage the academic community, the business and non-profit community, regulators, and jurists. It will enhance career opportunities for students interested in business law, and foster collaboration across the university. The Center plans to hold formal and informal programs on a variety of topics. It also will serve as a forum for research and analysis of issues pertaining to corporate law and governance, and as a resource for business, faculty, students, and alumni.
